Upon graduation from King Saud University, Riyadh, he started employment career at the Ministry of Finance (MOF) in 1981 while he joined as an officer in External Aids at the International Development Cooperation Department (IDCD). Passing through several supervisory positions at the MOF, he was appointed in 1989 as the D.G., IDCD, then as the D.G., Administrative and Financial Affairs at the MOF in 1996, then as the Deputy Minister, MOF for Central Services in 2004. By virtue of a Royal Decree issued in 03/03/1428 AH (corresponding to 23/03/2007), he is appointed as the Director General of Saudi Customs at the Extraordinary Grade.

He represented Saudi Arabia locally and abroad. He was accorded membership in different boards of various Government agencies and companies, i.e., SCECO and SAVOLA. He currently represents General Investment Fund in Arab Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances (ACDIMA) assuming position of Deputy Chairman, Board of Management. He assumes at present Chairmanship of Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corporation (SPIMACO). He represents H.E. the Minister of Finance at the Board of National Center of Archives and Documents at the Council of Ministers Cabinet Office. His Excellency heads Board of Management of the King Fahd Causeway General Corporation since 22/03/2007.
