The Saudi International Ports & Maritime Transport forum (SIPMT) was the first international event in Saudi Arabia to discuss the present and future of the Saudi ports, and to address current issues facing Saudi maritime and ports industry from global and regional perspectives.
Industry leaders and decision makers, as well as government agencies and trade professionals, met in Jeddah from March 23 to 25, 2008 to exchange experiences and offer applicable solutions to the challenges confronting ports and maritime transport on both strategic and operational levels, taking stock of the industry’s global dynamics.
The first annual SIPMT forum was a great networking opportunity. It formed a launch pad for a series of development projects that the Saudi Government and ports authority plan to release for the interest of local and international investors, creating unique investment opportunities in the Saudi industrial and commercial ports, and stimulating growth in maritime supply chain and supporting industries.
SIPMT forum was organized and hosted by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industries, in partnership with Knight Group. The Forum was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Makkah Region. It was endorsed and supported by the Saudi Ministry of Transport and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority SAGIA.
